Dreamweaver: How do I make changes on website without pulling the whole website?

  1. If you only have a few files to update you may not want to pull down your entire site. You can choose to pull one file at a time. To do this you can click on the drop-down menu at the top of your Files panel where it says Local View.
  2. Then choose Remote View. These are the files that are on the server in your website. Now find the file that you want to change and click the Green (Get Files) Arrow.
  3. Once you do this MAKE SURE that you go back to the drop-down menu and put it back on Local View. These are the files that are on the computer that you are working on. Now you can double-click the file, make your changes, save it, and publish it back to the server.
