Dreamweaver: How do I resize an image?

  1. First you can drag the picture to fit the area that you want and write down the width and height. You can find this information in the Properties Panel by clicking on the picture and looking at the bottom of the screen.
  2. DO NOT leave this picture in your website. You need to resize it in a photo editing software such as Photoshop. If you do not resize it you could have a distorted image or the time at which your page loads will be much slower. Other than that you will take up unnecessary space on the server.
  3. If you don’t have Photoshop you can go to wherever you have the picture saved on your computer, right-click on the image, and go to open with… Microsoft Office Picture Manager. You can then resize it from there by putting in the dimensions that you wrote down before. Save it and follow the same steps to insert it into your website. Delete the other image that you inserted before.
