Discussion Board: Assigning Forum Roles, Allowing Moderation of Posts, and Changing Thread Status in Blackboard Learn

This handout is designed to assist you in moderating your discussions by assigning forum roles, allowing moderation of posts, and changing thread status.
QUICK STEPS: Assigning Forum Roles
 
1.     Click the double drop-down arrows beside the forum.
2.     Select Manage.  A list of users will appear.
3.     Click the double drop-down arrows beside the students' name.
4.     Select a new forum role from the list.
 
QUICK STEPS: Allowing Moderation of Posts
 
1.     Click the double drop-down arrows beside the forum.
2.     Select Edit.
3.     On the Edit Forum page, under Forum Settings, select Force Moderation of Posts and click Submit.
4.     After posts have been submitted, access the forum and click on the thread.
5.     Click Moderate Forum.
6.     On the Moderation Queue page, click Moderate next to the desired post.
7.     Read posts and publish or return them by selecting the appropriate radio node. 
 
QUICK STEPS: Changing Thread Status
 
1.     Click on the forum.
2.     In List View, select the check box next to each thread requiring a change of status.
3.     From the Thread Actions drop-down list, choose a new status for the selected thread or threads.
