Back to school and computer troubles... getting technical help from ITS
Here are a few reminders on getting the most efficient technical service from ITS during this busy time. We know that when your computer doesn’t work or you are stuck with a technical dilemma that it is very frustrating.
We are here to help you and we will work as quickly as possible to get you on your way. Our resources are limited so following this guide below will help us serve you and others in the most fair and efficient way possible.
ASU Computer Troubles
If you have a problem with your ASU computer or technical equipment, please go to http://www2.astate.edu/a/finance-admin/its/forms/helpdeskworkorder-form.dot to put in a work order. This form is very easy to use!
Work orders put you in the queue and is the best way to seek help for computer troubles. There is no charge when you put in a work order and there is no charge for technical assistance for your ASU computers. (If the computer is not under warranty and the hard drive or the motherboard, etc. has to be replaced, we only charge for replacement parts, no labor or overhead.)
We will come to your location and help you. In most cases, there is no need to carry your equipment to ITS.
If your ASU computer is not working, please know that your computer is our top priority. If you are putting in a request for us to install a printer, for example, you will have lower priority than someone whose computer is not working and who is, therefore, unable to help students.
Personal Computer Troubles
If you have a problem with your personal computer, please understand that our top priority is getting and keeping the campus in great technical shape and our resources are limited. However, we will be glad to assist you with personally-owned computer troubles and we will answer any questions that you may have on an as available basis. Please understand that when you bring your personally-owned computer to us, we may be able to get to you immediately, or we may have other customers in front of you that could cause you to wait.
The ASU IT Store will be providing personal computer support so please stay tuned! The store will be open very soon and more details to follow!

If you have a technical question and need help, please call us at 3933 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. We have 24 X 7 technical support ready to help.
We are answering calls and emails as quickly as possible. If you get our voicemail, please leave a message. We return every single phone call.
Visiting ITS for Support
If you come to ITS for assistance, one of our wonderful student workers will be available to assist you with your question.
If you have a hardware issue, they will help you put in a work order so that you can be put in the queue for assistance. We will then come to your office to help you.
