# How do I record a webcam video, screen capture, or audio recording as a feedback comment in SpeedGrader?

If you access Canvas using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge as your web browser, you can record a webcam video, audio, or screen capture as a comment on student submissions in [SpeedGrader.](https://community.canvaslms.com/m/67952/l/724422-what-is-speedgrader)

If you record audible speech, recordings include captions automatically.

**Note:** Studio Capture is optimized for Full-HD recordings, with a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It performs best when your screen matches or is below this resolution. If your screen has a higher resolution, you may experience performance issues during recording or a decrease in video quality.

## Open SpeedGrader

## Open Student Submission

## Open Studio Capture

**Note:** If the assignment is supported by [Assignment Enhancements](https://community.canvaslms.com/m/67952/l/1314898-what-is-assignment-enhancements), the Assignment Comments section may display as Comments for this Attempt.

## View Record Media Tab

You can use the Record Media tab options to create a webcam video, an audio recording, or a screen capture recording. You can also create a picture-in-picture recording using your webcam while sharing your screen.

## Select Camera Options

To change your camera settings, click the **Camera** drop-down menu \[1\]. Then select a camera name \[2\]. To disable the camera, select the **Webcam Disabled** option \[3\].

**Note:** Camera names vary depending on the cameras installed on your computer.

## Select Microphone Options

To change your microphone settings, click the **Mic** button \[1\]. Then select one of the displayed microphone options \[2\].

To disable the microphone and record without audio, select the **Microphone Disabled** option \[3\].

**Note:** Microphone names vary depending on the mics installed on your computer.

## Select Screen Sharing Options

### Share Browser Tab

### Share Window

### Share Entire Screen

## Stop Sharing

**Note:** When a recording is in progress, clicking the Stop sharing button ends the recording.

## Start Recording

## Pause or Finish Recording

To pause the recording, click the **Pause** button \[2\].

To finish your recording, click the **Finish** button \[3\].

## Preview Recorded Media

To title your media, type in the **File name** field \[2\].

To submit your recording as a comment in SpeedGrader, click the **Save Media** button \[3\].

To discard your recording and record again, click the **Start Over** button \[4\].

## View Posted Recording

**Note:** If audible speech was recorded, captions are automatically added within a few minutes of the completed recording.

## Play Recording

## Manage Recording

To adjust the volume, click the **Volume** button \[2\].

To view the media with or without captions, click the **Toggle Captions** button \[3\].

To adjust the speed or quality size, click the **Settings** button \[4\].

To expand the window to full screen, click the **Full Screen** button \[5\].

To upload captions, click the **Options** menu \[6\] and then click the **Upload Captions** link \[7\].

To close the Play Media Comment window, click the **Close** icon \[8\].
