A-State Software Downloads

Arkansas State University provides access to a variety of licensed software to support academic and administrative needs. This article outlines the available software for download, compatible platforms, and the department or staff member responsible for each.

Microsoft 365

  • Platforms: Windows, Mac

  • Description: Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and more.

Respondus LockDown Browser

  • Platforms: Windows, Mac

  • Description: A secure browser used to take tests in Canvas. Prevents printing, copying, accessing other applications, or visiting other websites during a test.

Respondus Test Creator

  • Platforms: Windows

  • Description: Tool used to create and manage exams that can be published directly to Canvas.

Tegrity

  • Platforms: Windows

  • Status: No longer managed by the university. Kaltura has replaced this software.

  • Contact: N/A

Microsoft Visual Studio Pro

  • Platforms: Windows

  • Description: An integrated development environment (IDE) for writing code in multiple programming languages.

Spirion (Identity Finder)

  • Platforms: Windows, Mac

  • Description: Searches for sensitive information (SSNs, credit card numbers, etc.) on university-owned devices.

VPN GlobalProtect (Palo Alto)

  • Platforms: Windows, Mac

  • Description: Allows secure remote access to A-State systems and internal resources.

STATA

  • Platforms: Windows, Mac

  • Description: Statistical software used for data analysis, manipulation, and graphics.

  • Platforms: Windows, Mac

  • Description: Statistical analysis software for quality improvement and education.

Mathematica (Wolfram)

  • Platforms: Windows, Mac

  • Description: A technical computing system used in many scientific, engineering, mathematical, and computing fields.

  • Description: Software package used for interactive, or batched, statistical analysis.
