Scholarships

Alice Horn Bryant Psychology Scholarship

Criteria
  • Must be a psychology major
  • Must be a full time student (carrying at least 12 semester hours)
  • Must be at least a rising junior (earned a minimum of 60 hours at the end of the spring semester in which they apply)
  • Must have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • Must have earned at least 9 credit hours in the psychology program at A-State at the end of the spring semester in which they apply 
  • Must have a 3.25 psychology GPA
  • Scholarships are non-renewable and are for one academic year.
  • Must submit, with application, a statement of professional goals

Betty Church Memorial Scholarship

 

QUALIFICATIONS FOR RECEIVING SCHOLARSHIP:
  • Graduate student pursuing their Master’s degree in Counseling.
  • The graduate student should be a current teacher in public schools in a high poverty school in Eastern Arkansas/Delta Region.

Dr. & Mrs. James F. Golden Memorial Scholarship Endowment

QUALIFICATIONS FOR RECEIVING SCHOLARSHIP:
  • Student shall have completed 18 hours toward a Masters or Specialist degree in Counseling & be committed to a career in counseling.
  • Financial need shall be considered in the selection process.

Gussie L. Turner Memorial Scholarship

QUALIFICATIONS FOR RECEIVING SCHOLARSHIP:
  • Incoming freshman.
  • First choice is a student majoring in Psychology.
  • Second choice is a student majoring in Sociology.
  • Minimum high school GPA of 3.0.
  • Student must submit high schools transcript, along with listings of high school and community involvement, and three letters of recommendation.
  • Student must submit an essay of 750 words or less describing how they plan to use their degree to serve and improve the community.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR MAINTAINING THE SCHOLARSHIP:

N/A One-time award.

SELECTION MADE BY:

Psychology and Counseling Scholarship Committee will identify 10 finalists.  All documentation will be forwarded to the donors who will interview the 10 finalists and choose the recipient.
