Committee Overview
The Graduate Council provides guidance and direction for Arkansas State University’s graduate programs. This committee evaluates and recommends:

Graduate curriculum changes and proposals for new programs

Policies on graduate admissions, academic standards, and graduation requirements

Guidelines for graduate faculty status

Regulations concerning graduate assistantships and stipends
Membership:
The Graduate Council consists of one tenured graduate faculty member from each college with graduate programs. Colleges offering doctoral programs have an additional faculty representative from those programs. Two graduate students appointed by the Graduate Student Council also serve on the committee.
Ex-officio, nonvoting members include the Graduate Dean and the Director of Assessment Services. The Graduate Council reports to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Research (VCAAR) through the Dean of the Graduate School.
