Learn@State
Learn@State is a collaborative campus-wide initiative that brings together faculty, staff, and students to explore innovative ideas that support the university's mission and strategic priorities. The event provides an opportunity for participants to share new concepts, discuss emerging challenges, and develop practical solutions that can positively impact the institution.
Facilitated through the Program-Level Assessment Committee, Learn@State encourages collaboration across disciplines and departments while promoting creative approaches to issues affecting higher education.
2026 Learn@State Pitch Competition
This year's Learn@State event will be held as a pitch competition focused on innovative projects and initiatives that support:
- Recruitment
- Retention
- Research
Teams of two to six participants will have five minutes to present a proposed project or initiative, including a brief overview of the concept and its anticipated impact on the university.
Selected proposals will compete for funding of up to $5,000 to support implementation during the academic year. Judging will be coordinated by the Office of Research and Technology Transfer.
Winning team(s) will be invited to return to the following year's Learn@State event to share project outcomes, findings, and progress.

Participants do not need to have a fully developed proposal at the time of registration. The registration form is intended to collect a preliminary project idea or abstract and does not restrict a team's ability to refine or revise their concept before the competition.
Registration opens in August and remains open through September.
Note: Submission of the registration form does not require a completed project plan. Participants are encouraged to register even if their idea is still in development.
