Traditional AASN (On-campus) Degree Plan

Pre-requisites:

  • ENG 1003 Composition I 
  • MATH 1023 College Algebra
  • BIO 2203 and BIO 2201 Human Anatomy & Physiology I and Laboratory
  • Are you an LPN?  If yes, then you need to complete additional prerequisites as identfied below with a (*) after the course in the table.  The additional prerequisite courses for LPNs include: 
    • BIO 2223 and BIO 2221 Human Anatomy & Physiology II and Laboratory 
    • PSY 2013 Introduction to Psychology 
    • NRS 2392 Health Assessment
    • NRSP 2391 Health Assessment Practicum 

Semester 1 (spring semester)

 

  • NRS 1214 Introduction to Nursing+
  • NRS 2392 Health Assessment*
  • NRSP 1222 Fundamentals of Nursing Practicum+
  • NRSP 2391 Health Assessment Practicum*

Summer Sessions

 

The following courses must be completed this semester or prior to progress to Semester 2 nursing courses:

  • BIO 2223 Human Anatomy & Physiology II*
  • BIO 2221 Human Anatomy & Physiology II Laboratory*
  • PSY 2013 Introduction to Psychology*

 

Semester 2 (fall semester)

 

  • NRS 1235 Nursing I
  • NRS 1252 Role Development I
  • NRSP 1243 Clinical Practicum I

Note: Students admitted with an LPN license begin courses in this semester of the program. 

Semester 3 (spring semester)

 

  • NRS 2213 Nursing II Medical Surgical
  • NRS 2212 Nursing II Mental Health
  • NRS 2251 Role Development II
  • NRSP 2223 Clinical Practicum II

Summer Sessions

Semester 4 (fall semester)

 

  • NRS 2233 Nursing III Medical Surgical
  • NRS 2232 Nursing III Maternal Child
  • NRSP 2244 Clinical Practicum III
  • NRSP 2272 Role Development Practicum

 

 

The following courses must be completed prior to graduation: 

  • ENG 1013 Composition II
  • HIST 2763 United States to 1876  or HIST 2773 United States since 1876  or POSC 2103 Introduction to United States Government

+Articulation credit is provided for NRS 1214 Introduction to Nursing and NRSP 1222 Fundamentals of Nursing Practicum for all practicing LPNs at the conclusion of the program.  

Note: All courses (prerequisite, general education, and nursing) must be passed with a letter grade of "C" or better.
