Cost Shares

Cost shares are amounts of salaries and fringes agreed to be paid by the university for a grant agreement.  A FOAP change will need to be prepared to reallocate their salary to the grant.  Cost share salary and fringe savings is then transferred from the E&G portion of the salary to the 862000 (cost share line).  However, the program will not always match the E&G org/program combination but will have the same program as the grant.  For example, Social Work may have a cost share on a grant.  There E&G program is 1110 but the cost share may be placed on a program of 1310 if the grant is a public service grant.  Therefore, transfers would need to be done from the E&G program of 1110 to the program of 1310 within the FOAP stream.
