Upcoming change to Microsoft MFA
What is changing
On August 15, Microsoft announced that they will begin rolling out mandatory multifactor authentication (MFA) sign-in for Azure (also known as Microsoft Entra ID) resources in October 2024.
What to expect
As an A-State user, you will not need to change or update anything. On September 30, 2024, you will start to see a new prompt when logging in to any of the M365 apps or services provided by A-State. Some applications may require you to re-authenticate.
When authentication, you will now be prompted to select which authentication method to use for MFA. Select the Cisco Duo method to begin Duo authentication. If you have multiple Entra ID authentication methods enabled, you may need to click Other options to see the Duo authentication method.
You'll be redirected to the Duo Prompt Completing Duo authentication returns you to Entra ID to complete your application login.
